What to Expect When Taking CBD?

There is so much talk and claims about CBD that for someone that is in the “considering” stage, it might be confusing on what to expect when finally deciding to try it. On one hand, the talk of its miraculous benefits might lead to beliefs that after taking it, one would magically transform into a super-human. On the other hand, its association with the cannabis plant may conjure images of laying on one’s couch stuffing Cheetos in their mouth for hours on end. So, which is it? What can you actually expect when taking CBD?

What to know before taking CBD

First, let’s clarify a little about what CBD is and isn’t.

CBD is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant that works with your body’s endocannabinoid system to regulate the natural functions of your body. Everybody’s body is different and everybody’s body may need different things, so know going in that what someone else has experienced may be different than your own. With CBD, the effects are personalized adjusting to what your body needs. Results also vary on how much you take and consistency of use.

CBD is not like a typical synthetic drug that targets symptoms of an underlying illness or condition. It instead is assisting your body with the root cause of the illness to prevent symptoms from happening in the first place.

Not your typical medication

We live in a society that medicates everything with synthetic prescriptions, using them to target a specific symptom to give relief. We all know people that have to take multiple medications daily to balance blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. We also have heard of people who take more medication to eliminate the effects of the original medication. It’s an endless cycle of pill-popping that throws off balance in your body’s systems.

But, that’s what we expect. Our expectation is to pop a pill to have our symptoms relieved – not considering the havoc we are causing our internal systems. We tend to look for the “quick fix” for satisfaction, only to be confused when we find out that after taking Ibuprophen every day for years for back pain has now caused issues with the liver.

This is all-important to know and understand so that you know that CBD is not a “quick fix”. It is a real fix, not wrecking your body’s balance, but instead working with your body to keep a balance to eliminate illness.

Plant compound work better together

One other thing to know going into taking CBD is that CBD is not the only plant compound found in hemp that has therapeutic benefits. Scientists have found that these plant compounds tend to have a better effect on the body when they work together rather than alone. Known as the Entourage Effect, the use of full-spectrum CBD products will have a greater effect on your health vs using a CBD isolate product.

What does CBD feel like?

Often people associate CBD products with marijuana and expect the intoxication effect that THC has. CBD is non-intoxicating. It is not psychoactive and will not get you high. With that said, CBD is often described as calming, especially to those that have regular anxiety.

Again, everyone will experience something a little different, but here’s a great testimonial from one of our customers explaining his personal story:

“I am 73 years old, with back pain that has been treated with prescription meds. I also have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and do not sleep very well. I started taking CBD from a variety of brands at different strengths, but not all CBD oil is created equally. Make sure to purchase a full-spectrum oil with no additives. The other oils I tried did not help my back pain, but once I started taking yours, I was able to stop taking my pain pills after one week. I take one full dropper in the morning & one in the evening of the 3000 mg. I had a physical after the first month of taking your oil and my doctor was shocked at how my blood pressure & cholesterol had made major improvements. I have also noticed that my sleep improved and I am dreaming again. An unexpected benefit was my appetite was suppressed. I lost 12 pounds and continue to keep it off.

I have had a phenomenal experience with your product and I would recommend it to anyone. You have a customer for life.” – Hollis Malone

Closing Words

So, what can you expect when taking CBD? The short answer is, “It depends.” It depends on what you have going on internally as well as the concentration of your CBD. CBD is different than synthetic drugs and affects everyone a little differently. You will need patience and know that CBD is working with your body naturally and keeping it in balance and resulting in steady improvement.
